Through the HBCU Green Fund fellowship, Cydnee didn't just learn about climate justice — she learned how to lead.
She cold-emailed decision-makers. She advocated for sustainable environmental policy in national and intercontinental spaces. She attended the HBCU Green Fund Resilience Hub opening alongside the Mayor of Atlanta and the city's Chief Sustainability Officer. She spoke at the Africa Climate Summit in Ethiopia. She planned events that brought people together. She made her voice count — locally and globally.
Those aren't opportunities most people get right out of college. She got them because someone invested in her.
Now, through VOTE SoAR, Cydnee takes those skills into rural communities in South Arkansas — places that have been overlooked for too long — to make sure their voices aren't just part of the conversation, but central to the decision-making process.
She facilitates workshops. She builds relationships with local leaders. She shows up at every table, in every room, so that South Arkansas is never left out of the decisions that shape its future.
The HBCU Green Fund invests in the next generation of Black climate leaders. Through the Power of Ten campaign, HBCU students and alumni invest in each other — ten dollars becomes collective power.
Your donation directly funds fellowships for the next Cydnee — the next student who will go from a classroom to a global stage.
Ten dollars. A hundred dollars. Whatever you give goes directly to building the next generation of Black climate leaders.
